EPR WASTE MANAGEMENT CATEGORIES
Battery Waste Management
As per regulations, producers (manufacturers, importers) are responsible for their battery waste through Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Producers must meet collection and recycling targets outlined in Schedule II to fulfill their obligations.
Electronic Waste Management
E-waste EPR compliance involves applying online for producer registration certificates and recycling targets through the dedicated e-waste management portal. Producers, recyclers, refurbishers, and manufacturers must register and adhere to their responsibilities.
Plastic Waste Management
Under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, amended on February 16, 2022, producers, importers, and brand owners (PIBOs) must ensure the proper processing of plastic waste generated by their product packaging. Compliance involves meeting the guidelines outlined in Schedule II.
