EPR WASTE MANAGEMENT CATEGORIES
Battery Waste Management
According to regulations, producers (importers, manufacturers) are liable for their battery waste under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Producers are required to achieve collection and recycling targets as mentioned in Schedule II to complete their role.
Electronic Waste Management
Compliance of e-waste EPR includes obtaining producer registration certificates and recycling targets online using the specific e-waste management portal. Producers, recyclers, refurbishers, and manufacturers need to register and comply with their roles.
Plastic Waste Management
According to the Plastic Waste Management Rules, as amended on February 16, 2022, producers, importers, and brand owners (PIBOs) have to ensure the correct processing of plastic waste arising from their product packaging. Compliance means compliance with guidelines in Schedule II.
